Frontier Jr/Sr High School Kitchen Assistant/Cashier
Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the cafeteria manager. The primary duties of the Kitchen
Assistant/Cashier is to help prepare foods, help put stock in its designated areas, ring up all student and
adult meals and follow all policies and procedures of the School Corporation and the Food Service
Department.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion food as directed.
- Follow standards of sanitation in preparing, portioning, and storing food
- Store and/or dispose of leftovers in a proper manner
- Clean and sanitize work area
- Ring up all student and adult lunch and breakfast meals in POS system
- Make sure student meals are compliant with the National School Lunch Program (NLSP)
- Balance cash drawer daily
- Print daily reports, prepare deposit and take to school treasurer daily
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Ability to lift/push/pull 40 pounds
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stand and twist
- Ability to read, write and follow instructions
- Exhibit good attendance and punctuality
- Good oral and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and within a group/team environment
Hours: 7:30am – 1:00 pm
Part time position—Work August to May, Monday thru Friday
Pay Rate: $11.00 to $13.00 per hour
